Today Heaven has a new addition. Lillian Mae Varner, 78, of Enola has departed this earthly plane and has joined family, friends and loved ones in as she passed away peacefully Tuesday February 28, 2017 in her home surrounded by loved ones.

She was born September 12, 1938 in Newville, the daughter of William Theodore and Mary Railing Mixell.

Miss Lillian was a graduate of nursing school and was a LPN who did her internship at the Carlisle Hospital before being employed by the Cumberland Nursing Home and the Sarah A. Todd Nursing Home before going into private nursing care which she did until she retired.

Miss Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Donald Ray Varner and by one son Ronald Ray Varner. Four brothers William, Carl, Arthur, and Charles Mixell and two sisters Betty and Jackie Mixell.

Daughter in law Tammi Sims and her children Justin Ray Varner and Nickole Mae Varner and one great grandchild Nathaniel Douglas Varner. Also survived by two brothers Ernest Mixell and Earl Mixell and one sister Shirley Heberlig.

Miss Lillian loved the color purple and her one request was that for her viewing service please wear something that has some purple in it as she loved the color purple and thinks it's a happy color. Miss Lillian does not want people to grieve for her absence but to rejoice that she is in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Also in lieu of flowers please donate to 2nd Chance 4 Life dog rescue as she loved all of her grandpuppies that were rescued and saved. Miss Lillian spent a lot of time with her grandpuppies and also donated to the rescue. Website is www.2ndchance4liferescue.org or 2nd Chance 4 Life P.O. Box 549 Elizabethtown, PA 17022
