 Hamilton Carroll Davis, age 71, died Thursday at home after a years-long struggle with Parkinson's Disease.

Hamilton was raised in El Dorado, Arkansas by Barbara Carroll Davis and Roy Davis. He played football for three seasons at West Point before graduating from the University of Arkansas. He relocated to Pennsylvania to attend Dickinson School of Law and remained there for his law career. He practiced with Zullinger-Davis law firm and enjoyed his work and his clients.

    Hamilton inherited his family's love of fishing, hunting, cooking, and reading. He was also extremely close to his grandfather and namesake O. Hamilton Carroll, whom lot of people called “Hamp” and whom he called “Pap.”

     Hamilton is survived by his brother Robert Davis (Martha) in Virginia; his aunt Mary Carroll Ritter (Jack) in Texas; his former wife Jill Davis; his daughters Courtney Rickabaugh (Shawn) and Alisoun Bertsch (David); five grandchildren (Laila and Zaida Moore, Sander, Maryrose, and Peter Bertsch); as well as dear nieces, nephews, friends, hunting and fishing buddies, colleagues, and caregivers.

    Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4 from 1-3 PM at Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 Big Spring Ave. Newville, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
