Dorothy M. Hosler 91, of Newville went to be with the Lord Wednesday November 1, 2017.

    She was born May 7, 1926 the daughter of the late William and Pearl Jumper Bailey.

     Mrs. Hosler was preceded in death by her husband Harry G. Hosler Sr. and son Harry G. Hosler Jr., brothers Harold L. Bailey Sr., Joseph W. Bailey, Paul E. Bailey Sr., Eugene A. Bailey, James F. Bailey and sisters Darlene E. Bailey, Kathleen C. Mixell, Mary E. Noll and Elsie M. Clement.

     She worked at the Roxbury-Military Installation during WWII at the age of 15. In 1942 she worked in the Newville Dress Factory, in 1943 she worked at Maslands in Carlisle and made military rain capes, and jackets. In 1946 she worked at Shippensburg Pen and Pants factory, other jobs included Newville Tomato Canning Factory and Adams County Canning Factory.

     She belonged to St. Mary's United Methodist Church in Bloserville. She has two surviving daughters, Donna L. Stouffer, and her husband Edward of Marshall VA, and Bonnie J. Kann and her husband Larry of Newville, nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

     A viewing will be held Saturday November 4, 2017 from 10 to 11 AM in St. Mary's United Methodist Church Bloserville, a funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the church with the Rev. Lisa Klinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Upper Frankford Brick Church Cemetery.
