Doris Jean Snyder, 75, of Bloserville died Friday September 1, 2017 in Carlisle.

    She was born June 27, 1942 in Upper Frankford Twp. The daughter of Walter and Pauline Baughman Whisler.

     She was the wife of Ray M. Snyder.

     Doris worked at McDonald's on Walnut Bottom Road Carlisle. She had also worked at Affiliated in Shippensburg. She and her husband owned Snyders Fruit Farm in Bloserville, and worked at the Farmers Market on Pomfret Street, Holly Pike, and Dillsburg.

    She belonged to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Carlisle, had formerly belonged to St. James Lutheran Church in Bloserville, the Mifflin Grange, and had volunteered at the Upper Frankford Fire Company. She was also involved with Big Spring Band Boosters.

     Mrs. Snyder is survived by one daughter Lisa A. Snyder of Newville, and one son Stephen Andrew Snyder of Carlisle; two grandchildren; two brothers William G. Whisler, Clarence E. Whisler, and two sisters Ruth A. Clem, and Dorothy I. Beaston, and many nieces and nephews.

    She is preceded in death by a brother Richard Baughman.

    A visitation will be held Saturday September 9, 2017 from 10 to 11 AM in St. Paul Lutheran Church 201 W. Louther St. Carlisle. A memorial service will be held in the church at 11 AM with Rev. Robert Moore and Rev. Jean Kuebler officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
